We’ve also been fortunate to have had the trust of a bunch of great investors as we’ve scaled in South Africa, and more recently in Kenya and beyond. “We thank them all again for taking this journey with us, particularly over what has been a super eventful (to put it lightly!) last year. The previous 12 months, in particular, have come with many important reminders, including the importance of people and authentic and empathetic leadership in the face of struggle and uncertainty, pulling together to help those who are most vulnerable, and a renewed focus on togetherness with friends and family, and taking care of our physical and mental health,” they continue to say.
While the challenges that the pandemic has brought are far from over, we are ever hopeful for the year ahead. “Year 7 will bring exciting developments in terms of new verticals and markets, and growth in the scale of impact we can create, all while remaining true to our values. In the context of a pandemic, it’s a huge privilege to be heading up a growing business, and we don’t take that for granted, and the SweepSouth team looks forward to some great times ahead,” say explain.

2015 – We surpassed 2000 monthly bookings.
2016 – SweepSouth launched a state-of-the-art mobile app.
2017 – Over R18.9 million paid out to SweepStars nationwide to date.
2017 – We reached 100 000 bookings on the platform.
2018 – WON SAVCA Best Small Business Award in November.
2018 – 10 000 SweepStars vetted and onboarded since launch.
2019 – We launched SweepSouth in Kenya + SweepSouth Connect APP launched.
2020 – 1 million bookings reached on the platform + Raised over R12 million towards the SweepStar Covid-19 Relief Fund.
2020 – SweepSouth launched its Outdoor Services across SA.
2021 – Winner of the 2021 FastCompany Most Innovative Business Award.
2021 – Launched our SweepFam Ambassador Program and our SweepSouth Foundation.
